brunoStairLiftThe first stair lift was developed about 90 years ago, but it would not be until much later that these devices would become more common place. One popular manufacturer of stair lifts is Bruno Independent Living Aids.

Bruno Independent Living Aids was founded in 1984 and is based out of Oconomowoc Wisconsin. Bruno is a family owned company, with Michael R. Bruno II being the current president and CEO.

Today, they continue to expand their business, recently completed a large addition to their manufacturing and administrative buildings, expanding by more than 100,000 square feet. It is here that the assemble and build most of their lifting aids, which are built in the USA.

Bruno not only manufacturers stair lifts, but they also offer vertical platform lifts, vehicle wheelchair lifts, and a turning automotive seat, which extends out of a car or truck, allowing the user to enter or exit the vehicle very easily.

Bruno offers several types of stair lifts, both for straight and curved staircases. One popular feature, which is not available in AmeriGlide Stair Lifts, is a wrap around park section, which can be added to some staircases, saving room and making it easier to get onto or off of the stair lift.

Bruno Stair Lifts are designed so that they can typically be installed onto both sides of the staircase, with a flip-up section available for either end of the stair lift track, which allows a portion of the track to be flipped up to save room. The flip up folding rail option works great for staircases that have a doorway at the top, because the track can be flipped up when not in use, allowing the door to be shut.

Curved Stair Lifts

For curved staircases, Bruno offers the Electra-Ride III Curved Rail model. The Electra-Ride III can be fitted on staircases with landings, which would not be possible with a standard straight stair lift. It can also be used on curved staircases, with 90 and 180 degree bends, both large and small turn radiuses, as well as squared turns.

Straight Stair Lifts

For straight staircases, Bruno offers four different stair lifts, including the Electra-Ride LT, Electra-Ride II, and the Electra-Ride Elite. They also offer an outdoor version of the Electra Ride Elite. These include a number of safety features, including swing away arm-rests and battery powered propulsion. These stair lifts, in addition to Bruno’s curved stair lift, are designed to offer simplified installation.

Even though Bruno is a North American Stair Lift Manufacturer, they offer stair lifts worldwide, with all dealers going through a training program to better familiarize them with Bruno Stair Lifts.
